A new Garnet Finance product
You’re heading to G pay.
G pay is Garnet Finance’s self-custody wallet: you hold and control your crypto assets directly, with your own keys.
Garnet never holds the keys to your wallet. Backup and security are your SOLE RESPONSIBILITY.
What self-custody means
With self-custody, you are the one who holds your wallet’s keys. Your crypto assets are recorded on the blockchain and can only be moved with those keys — by whoever has them.
It is the opposite of custody by an institution, where a company holds the keys on the client’s behalf. With G pay, Garnet provides the app; control of the wallet is yours.
Your 12 words
Your wallet is created or imported on your own device from a 12-word recovery phrase. The phrase is never sent to Garnet’s servers, and Garnet keeps no copy of it.
Whoever has those words controls the wallet. Without them, access cannot be recovered, and the crypto assets may be lost for good.
What Garnet cannot do
- recover your wallet if you lose the 12 words and every access to it;
- move, block or freeze the crypto assets in that wallet;
- undo or reverse a transaction already sent on the blockchain.
Good practices
- Write the 12 words down in the right order and keep the backup offline, somewhere private and safe.
- Never share the phrase: Garnet support will never ask for your words, private keys or passwords.
- Check the network and the address before every transfer — blockchain transactions are irreversible.
Transfers with Garnet
When Garnet transfers virtual assets to or from a self-custody wallet, Central Bank of Brazil rules require it to identify the wallet’s owner. Such transfers may be reported to COAF, Brazil’s financial intelligence unit, and, from January 1, 2027, be subject to a precautionary hold of up to 24 hours.
